FOLLOW UP:

GROUNDWORK SERIES:  Dr. Steve Harris - Six basic lessons designed to provide a foundation upon which you can build your faith. These six lessons are transferable follow up tools for new believers and those who are being trained as disciple makers.

Receiving the Word - This is a relational discussion of the Parable of the Sower.  How you receive the truth of the Bible will determine how well you understand the Word of God.  Do you filter God’s Word through the hard soil of a stolen heart, the rocky soil of a tested heart, the thorny soil of a distracted heart, or the fertile soil of a noble heart?

Assurance of Salvation – How sure are you that if you died today, you would go to heaven?  This discussion leads to confidence in the promises of God and his Word as the basis for one hundred per cent assurance of Salvation.  It includes the Biblical evidences of spiritual fruit that must be present in order for a person to know for sure that they have eternal life.

Victory over Sin – The struggle with sin can defeat a believer if they do not know how to quickly and immediately deal with it. During this study you will discover that even though we were born with a sin nature, Christ defeated the power of sin through His life, death, and resurrection.  Through confession we can experience forgiveness from our sins.  This study shows you how.

Power for Living – The Christian life is not hard, it is impossible.  We are not called to live it in our own strength, but to draw from the power of the Spirit of Christ.  In this lesson you will discover how to be filled with the Spirit and the blessings that come from yielding to the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Cost of Discipleship – Jesus did not offer a gospel of easy believism.  He called people to count the cost of following Him.  Shallow expressions of Christian faith are a result of people not counting the cost of following Christ according to His standards.  This study reveals the challenge of Jesus as He drew a line in the sand and said over and over again, “You cannot be my disciple unless….”

The Disciplines of Grace – We are saved by grace and we live by grace, but that grace calls us to discipline ourselves for the purpose of godliness.  Just as an athlete or a musician must enter into certain disciplines in order to master the skills necessary to excel, a Christian must enter into certain disciplines that will be an expression of our love for Christ.  This study exposes us to eight personal, corporate, and kingdom disciplines necessary to experience our full potential as followers of Christ.

FREEDOM:

THE FREEDOM DISCIPLESHIP SERIES – Rich Miller – The Freedom Discipleship Series is eight lessons about freedom from the power of sin in our lives; liberation from an identity of defeat and discouragement that come from the lies and deceit of our culture and spiritual enemy.*

What is Freedom in Christ?  Experiencing your  new life
Sometimes the concept of “freedom in Christ’ is difficult to get our hearts and minds around.  This study is designed to clearly define what spiritual freedom truly is and, in the process, whet your appetite for God’s liberating work in your own life!

Who Are You? Your identity in Christ
It is impossible to experience freedom in Christ without a growing understanding of who you are in Christ.  This refreshing study will point you in that direction and help you discover or recover the truth of how the God of grace and truth see you.  You’ll never be the same.

Where Are You?  Your position in Christ
Week Three:  So many Christians see themselves as simply the same person they were before they came to know Christ (except that now they have a one-way ticket to heaven).  The realization of your position in Christ is the liberating gateway into overcoming the power of sin in your life.  Includes very practical helps in dealing with failure and experiencing cleansing from sin!

Why is this Christian Life So Hard?  The flesh vs. the Spirit
Week Four:  Ever read Romans chapter 7 and feel like someone was reading your mail?  Ever wonder why living out the life of Christ on a daily basis is so tough?  In this study you’ll understand more of how the “flesh” operates, but more importantly, you’ll receive strong encouragement to walk in the Spirit!

When Life is a Pain:  Moving beyond distrust
Week Five:  It doesn’t take long as a Christian to realize God’s ways are different than ours, but have you come to embrace the truth that they are higher?  Moving beyond anger and distrust of God are essentials to experiencing freedom in Christ.  This healing study will help you begin to do just that.

The Great Challenge to Freedom:  Extending forgiveness
Week Six:  One of the greatest threats to our spiritual freedom is unforgiveness.  Pain is unavoidable in life.  We know we can’t change our past, but how can we walk in freedom from it?  Only by choosing to forgive those who have hurt us.  There is no way to bypass this issue and still experience freedom.  Learn how to exercise mercy and forgiveness toward others… and yourself!

Fighting an Invisible War:  Know your enemy
Week Seven:  Professional sports teams spend hours and hours studying the tactics of their opponents.  As Christians, we often get blind-sided because we are ignorant of Satan, our adversary’s schemes.  This study will open your eyes to the spiritual battle we all wage with the devil and will expose his main strategies.  In addition, you will receive renewed hope that in Christ this war can be won!

Winning an Invisible War:  Know your weapons
Week Eight:  God has not left us defenseless here on earth as we fight this invisible war against our enemy, the devil.  In fact, He has given us His very own weapons by which we can stand firm against everything the devil throws at us.  But there’s a prerequisite for victory… learn what that essential ingredient is in this study!
